NOTES AND THANKS RECEIVED—

My Heartfelt Thanks

It feels a little strange to be writing for the Living Lord Love Letter, but also kind of nice. I have been doing a Newsletter for my dog club, The Tibbie Times since I left Living Lord and I will try to remember I am writing this for people and not our fur-friends.

Since I discovered I had cancer and Pastor Rob announced it at church, I have had an over whelming response of love and concern. I have received over 100 cards, more phone calls than I could count and beautiful flowers from Helen and Harold Hayden as well as altar flowers.

My Pastor has been at my side every step of the way, even rising at 5:30 AM the day of my surgery to be at the hospital with me as were my dear, warm friends Ginnie Lewis and Mac Mclaughlin. Not only did they provide the strength and spiritual love I so needed, but they sat with and comforted my children and husband during those long hours.

No one takes the word CANCER well. It for me was the very first time I have ever had to face a major health crisis. God had blessed me with many, many years of excellent health and this came as a completely surprise and shock. I am also not the bravest person in the world when it comes to hospitals and surgery and I know I would not have been able to go through this time without so much love, friendship, prayer and support from all at Living Lord.

My family has always been the center of my world and I do have the most wonderful children. My daughters flew down immediately and never left my side. Kathleen is a nurse and slept at the hospital each night and made sure I had the best of care in every respect. Helene and Tim were my support system and poured out so much love it made possible to work through the discomfort and pain of surgery.

All of you, who know my husband, know there is no finer person in this world. God has blessed me with someone who is there for me each hour of the day and night and has always put my well being before all else. He has never left my side from the moment we discovered I had cancer and remains my tower of strength giving up many nights sleep to comfort me and take care of me.

I started this out as a small thank you to all of my wonderful friends at Living Lord who has shown me such an abundance of love and concern, but I also had a silent partner who had His arms around me every moment, our Lord never let me flounder or feel alone or deserted at any moment during this time.

No one would choose to have cancer. No one would choose to have surgery or the discomfort and fear which follows, but were I to have a choice to live these past few months over with out this dreaded disease, I would not. I have had living proof of God's love and his concern for me. I have know such warmth and love from my friends and realize how closely connected we all are in God's love, and I have learned so many lessons of patience and acceptance that cancer seems like a small price to pay for the gifts I have received.. My bonds of love with my children have increased 10 fold and I have lived through and completely understood those words we tend to take for granted "For better or worse, in sickness and health, till death do us part."

With love and thanks,

      Joan Waters

Joan passed in July, 2008, and we send our love to her family!

What a beautiful website to wake up to!  I got up at
4:00 A.M. to get some work done and have not gotten
started on it, and it is now almost 5:00!!

Am going to add it to my favorites.  Love the music.

Dear Friends,

I cannot express in words my appreciation and feelings in receiving your kind support and generous contribution. Your generosity has greatly benefited our effort to serve the hungry and poor residents of our county a free, hot, nutritious meal. Because of caring individuals like you, our food ministry continues to grow in our effort to provide nourishment  to so many well deserving, less fortunate people. I thank you sincerely for your contribution, and I commend you for your support. Please stop by and see where your contributions are going.

                                                  Sincerely,
